Snackie & Sarah's Coffeehouse

The Snack Bar or "Snackie" was the preeimenant gathering place on campus for students, faculty, administrators, campus visitors, and dates in the 1950s through the 1970s.  The pay phones in Snackie were used by students as an impromptu phone bank for contacting alumnae and distributing information in their efforts to keep Wilson open in 1979.

In fall 1995 the space was converted into Sarah's Coffeehouse which served as a preformance venue for local artists and students in addition to continuing to serve as a gathering place for students.  Beginning in the summer of 2011 the space was used to temporarily house the circulation functions of the John Stewart Memorial Library while major renovations were planned for the historic library.
